The changing of “your” season?

Posted by Pat on November 8, 2015 in Uncategorized |

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

flu seasonEven the flu?!

We are bombarded in our culture with information, immunization, medication, and expectation regarding the annual flu season.

(And, yes, I got my shot!)

We expect it every year, see lots of ads, compare symptoms…

but instead, I recommend choosing this belief about “FLU”

Spirit/Life/God is:

“Forever Loving Us” ( FLU) and

 “Forever Liberating Us!” (FLU)

This view of a flu season is more than a season. It’s

  • everyday,
  • a constant,
  • affirmative position that encourages us to embrace and accept change with enthusiasm and courage.

The love and the liberation of Spirit/Life/God allows us to move forward in faith, knowing that victory is apparent in our times of challenge and respite.

We know that change is inevitable, that it is really the definition of life. And we appreciate the saving grace of remembering that we have our butterfly genes within our apparent caterpillar selves, even unto the “death” in the cocoon.

 caterpillar quote

The butterfly said to the caterpillar, “Sorry I’m late, I had to change.”

I believe we can change with grace or we can change with resistance, but we will change, regardless.

So why not choose this season to accept that our personal FLU season will be…

Spirit Forever Loving Us

and us forever loving everyone!

start now

What will your season be?

So timely! Fighting the flu now but maybe I should embrace it! Thank you Pat.

Dave, so sorry to hear about your flu, but getting it over with now should open “your” season to health and energy.

FLU has meaning for me – after a great cruise adventure, I returned home after one stage (10 hours) was on a plane with a guy coughing all the way – no place to hide. After 3 weeks recovering from the flu he passed around the cabin, I have the strength back for our next adventure. Keep up the positive thoughts when you are down and will be excited and ready for what comes up next. Have camera, will travel.

    • Pat says:

Earl, that was quite an adventure! But it’s said somewhere in the Bible that this too shall pass, and everything does. Your upbeat attitude is a great role model for all of us. Thanks for sharing and keep traveling with that camera!

I am recovering from a virus, not the flu, thankfully. But I can commiserate with Earl. I don’t how horrible it is.
As for butterflies, they always remind me of my mother and I know she’s near when they come up in my life. Not to mention, they are a wonderful symbol not only of change but of transformation. When I lived in Santa Barbara, there was one grove of trees where the migrating monarchs would hang out. It was amazing to see them, the whole tree, trunk too, was covered with them and unless one looked very closely, you could miss them. The caterpillar/butterfly change reminds me that sometimes you have to let go of what you have to make room for what is to come.

Mary Kay, sometimes in my “caterpillar” stage I totally miss the oncoming butterfly stage! And your experience in Santa Barbara is one of those “miracles” we humans often overlook. Thanks for sharing it!

typo correction: I know how horrible it is.
