  • Earl Blackaby says:

One of my favorites is the advice my Grandfather Earl gave me: “When you argue with a fool, you have two fools arguing.”
When you find a comment that would really bother you, just be silent rather than reply. You just put the fire out without using water. If you are being baited into a bad situation, just don’t accept that challenge and beat it by no response, they can take the bait somewhere else. Be more positive with your life and try to ignore the negative choices, your life will go easier and more enjoyable this way.

    • Pat says:

Earl, I remember reading somewhere that if someone gives you a “gift” (negativity, anger, etc) you do not have to accept it. That gift, ugly or nasty, can just be left with the giver! As you suggested in your comment, not accepting it would seem better than trying to pretend you didn’t get it or accepting it and being upset with yourself for doing so.

  • Fay says:

The Buddha spoke to me today on this post, Pat. Hard to think why exactly, but there you are.
Loving, living, and gently letting go. These seem good ideas to reflect on when making daily life decisions.

    • Pat says:

Fay, these thoughts (loving, living, and gently letting go) can certainly enhance the peace we choose to feel in each moment!
