Were YOU ever grounded?

Does that question ring a bell with any of the rest of you? When I was growing up, getting grounded meant that I wasn’t allowed to do the things that I valued most at the time.
It means something different to me at this stage of my life!
These days I often feel called to ground myself when I feel like I need to take a break from the busyness of life and to reconnect with myself.

And I can’t help but enjoy the earthy message of this season by getting out in nature. It is a good time to plant those seeds in the ground that I wish to harvest and then just allow them to grow.
When I (or you!) are feeling pressure to stay busy, are stressed or distracted, we could just say to ourselves, “I can’t. I’m grounded.”
And then we could plant some seeds of peace…go for a walk or spend time with family or just breathe or…

I don’t recall ever being grounded.
My childhood was different from those of my peers. Punishments must have been very rare in my family.
