How Old is Grandma?

( How old is grandma? The answer is at the end of  the article!)

Today is Grandparents Day!

And here’s a cute story…

One day a grandson was talking to his grandmother about current events. The grandson asked his grandmother what she thought about the shootings at schools, the computer age, and just things in general.

The Grandma replied,”Well, let me think a minute. I was born before

television remotes, polio shots, TV dinners, Xerox, and the pill.

There were no radar guns, cell phones, laser beams or pantyhose.

Our clothes were hung out to dry in the fresh air, and man hadn’t yet walked on the moon.

Gas was only 29 cents a gallon and it only cost 4 cents to mail a letter.

We never heard of FM radios, tape decks, CDs, electric typewriters, or guys wearing earrings.

And we had 5&10-cent stores where you could actually buy things for 5 and 10 cents!

(and this Grandma is only 65 years old! Some of us are even older!)

So…here’s even another reason to respect us older folks!

I wish you all a happy “Grandparents’ Day” and know that you, like me, probably would not really want to trade away any of those years and experiences.

We are blessed to…

  • be here now,
  • to be here,
  • to be!
