Respond to “How are you?”

Posted by Pat on June 16, 2018 in Uncategorized |

Start your day with a friendly “How are you?”

But ask it of yourself!

It is an opportunity to be reminded of what’s really true about you and your experiences.

Imagine beginning each day with “How am I?” and then responding with one of the following answers:

I am…

How am I ?

  • I am strong.
  • I am vitally alive.
  • I am filled with energy.
  • I am radiant with good health. I am happy and enthusiastic about life and living.
  • I am peaceful and secure.
  • I am loving and I am loved.
  • I am understanding and caring. I am capable and energetic.
  • I am filled with joy and goodwill.

How am I?

Those responses are certainly better responses than our more usual and habitual answers:

  • I’m tired.
  • I’m okay
  • I’m getting by.
  • I’m bored.
  • I’m frustrated.
  • I’m angry.

And why (you may be asking)  does it matter?

It matters because you are claiming that answer!

You are creating it in your experiences!

And is that what you want?

As John C.Maxwell quotes the poem that reminds us…

So…

What will you tell yourself today when you are asked “How are you?”
